Epic Games announced at today’s State of Unreal conference at GDC that it will give 40% of the total net revenues earned from Fortnite’s Item Shop and “related real-money purchases” to eligible Fortnite content creators in what it calls “Creator Economy 2.0.” The new system will exist alongside the Support-A-Creator program, which is “returning to its roots as an affiliate marketing program for streamers and social media content creators.”

“The money in the economy comes from player spending in the item shop. One of the biggest discoveries to come out of Starfield’s first weekend in the wild was convincing evidence that terrain in randomly placed landing spots isn’t totally random. On top of rumors that Red Bull design guru Adrian Newey could be leaving the team for unknown pastures comes the news that Ferrari has named HP as its title sponsor for the next several years. That means the red team is going to have at least a splash of blue.

Starting from the next round of the season in Miami, the team will formally be known as Scuderia Ferrari HP. Aside from the branding aspect, Ferrari will adopt various HP technologies, including PCs, video conferencing and printers. The deal extends to Ferrari’s esport program and F1 Academy.

After only a few days’ buildup, Larian has released the second major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3. In addition to a host of bug fixes and UI changes, Patch 2 also adds new story content for PC Gamer’s top ranked Baldur’s Gate 3 companion, Karlach.

But most of us aren’t Microsoft, which spent a chunk of a submission to the FTC last month in full “the whole damn system’s out of order” mode, decrying the FTC’s structure and its lawsuit against Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard as a wholesale violation of the US Constitution.

I’m really feeling this cute little one-person developed platformer about being a Gecko. Maybe I’m just in a mood for a movement-driven game about exploring and doing puzzles (thanks, Zelda) but The Gecko Gods is adorable.

Early footage of The Gecko Gods shows its tiny protagonist stickily scaling walls, complete with pattering of tiny feet on stone. That’s really not all, I’ll note, because the Gecko also leaps forward and chomps down on bugs whole, crushing them into its maw whole like a true Gecko does.

Since the massive leak of Xbox’s internal roadmap in September 2023, rumors have circulated about the possibility of a forthcoming Xbox handheld from Microsoft. Lately, some of the blame for those rumors belongs to Phil Spencer himself. In an interview during IGN Live, after evading questions about recent studio closures, Spencer indicated Microsoft is doing something related to “different form factors” for Xbox, continuing his months-long streak of being delicately vague on the subject.

Crazy Taxi fans, get your hopes high: In an interview with The Japan Times (via Eurogamer), Sapporo Studio president Takaya Segawa said the upcoming new game in the series will be “a triple-A game.”

The console version of Crazy Taxi debuted in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast, and it was a hit, eventually being ported to other platforms including the PlayStation 2, Nintendo Gamecube, and yes, even PC. Sequels and spinoffs followed, but aside from a couple of mobile games in the 20-teens, the series has been largely dormant for decades: The last mainline game in the series, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, came out in 2002.
